Pandora Internet Radio is a cleverly designed service. Pandora requires nothing to download and nothing to install, and is designed to serve up streaming audio at CD quality sound levels. And the service is free, with only banner ads to view. There is no annoying DJ's, no audio ads, and any commitments or subscriptions unless you choose.

Music Stylings

Basically you enter your favourite songs or favourite artists and Pandora plays that song or those artists, and other songs by other artists that match your favourite music stylings. Their music analysts select all of the music available to you, and although independent garage-band songs are available if their style matches your preferences, most of the hit songs are by mainstream artists.

Pandora's Box

The name Pandora means "all gifted" in Greek and comes from ancient Greek mythology; Pandora's box. The God Apollo gave Pandora the gift of music; other Gods gave her other gifts. But Pandora was eternally curious and this led to her downfall. Far from being a negative though, the Music Genome Project created Pandora Internet Radio as a celebration for the musically curious.
